It was a Friday morning when my friends and I decided to have a drive to Jinja for a weekend trip from Kampala. We packed all our luggage and after Friday work, we meet at the city square in Kampala where our car was waiting for us. We had an evening drive before night we spotted green vegetation, mabira forest , sugar cane plantation on a large scale and many more. we reached jinja for about 4 hours because of Jam along jinja road. We spent our night at Jinja Nile resort hotel which has the best view of the source of the Nile and the Bridge. The hotel was quite with a cool breeze of the Nile and trees within and around the hotel.
While at Jinja Nile Resort, we were welcomed with smiles at the reception as they gave us a welcoming sweet juice. After they gave us keys for our rooms which were self –contained, grass thatched, wooded beds and furnished chairs and tables, flashing toilets, showers with warm and cold water and many more. we freshened up and went at the restaurant to have dinner which was delicious which we accompanied it with water. The hotel had bar that was well stocked with hard and soft drinks which my friends and I ordered after dinner as we had good evening time. As soon as we finished our drinks, we all went to our respective rooms for rest.
That day after, we waked up in the morning, had breakfast at the hotel and went for water sliding at explore Uganda which was a great experience that we were given five more rounds each to slide to the source of the Nile where by those that didn’t know how to swim were picked up by the boat from the Nile to the shores. We really had fun and after we head to water tubing which took us about 3 hours sailing on the source of the Nile . During tubing, green vegetation and local communities were spotted as well as canoes on the Nile. After asking our guide how safe is the water, he confirmed to us that no harmful aquatic animals so we reached somewhere and we decided to swim in the Nile. it was an amazing experience that I wish for everyone to have for sure.
We went back at the hotel for lunch which was delicious that was cooked by a professional chefs for both locals and international meals. After feeling our stomachs with such an amazing meals, we decided to do swimming at the hotel as we enjoy soft and hard drinks from the bar that is close to the swimming pool as we enjoy the view of the Nile at the hotel. After swimming for about 3 hours, we decide to have a walk to the bungee jumping site which neighbors the hotel. After reaching there, we told the receptionist that we want to do bungee jumping and she weighed us and gave us a form to sign. We first watched the distance and the guide told us that its 44 meters high from the Nile. Although it looked scarely but my friends and I decided to let go of the fear and we kiss the Nile. we did it and excitedly, we really had more fun than we never expected it. After we had to walk again to our hotel for dinner and resting.
Sunday morning we all woke up and had breakfast at the hotel as we prepare to leave since it was our last day in Jinja city. We package our luggage and put them in the car then set off from the hotel to Kampala. It was really a great time in Jinja indeed it deserves to be called a tourism city due to its beauty and many activities along the source of the Nile. come experience what I have experienced and you will never forget .
