When I was young, my father used to drive my siblings and I from one place to another visiting national parks on a Uganda safari like Queen Elizabeth national park, kibale national park, and Lake Mburo national park. Besides falling in love with national park on a Uganda safari, I fell in love with various cultures, people, language and beautiful sceneries. We woke up early morning and prepare with too much excitement to hit the road. As we set off from home, one of the exciting and long waited day was the road trip where I used to spot beautiful sceneries landscapes, lakes and rivers, tropical thick forests, mountains, valleys and hills and many more.
Despite the fact that my father was a business man, he used to move a lot and knew the exciting places to visit and hence during the holiday, he used to take us in good places which made me fall in love with them and I grew up dreaming of having a tour company of my own as I explore the world. That how traveling became my passionate affairs with a road trip excitement.
How I fell in Love with a Road trip and the places I visited?
Kibale national park.
From Kampala to Kibale national park, we used Mupende-Fort portal route using private vehicle which takes about 5 hours to reach the park. While on the way to the park, I spotted green vegetation, gardens along the way which I used to think they are moving going backwards yet they were instant as we are were hitting the road. Whereas on the way, I spotted various local communities and various bird species. When I reached in the park, I was amazed by the tropical thick forest of kibale park which is famously known for chimpanzees tracking. The park in habits about 12000 chimpanzees which is the highest population census in the world. Chimps are known as close relatives of humans and live in a family over 60 individuals.
Queen Elizabeth national park.
My first time to visit Queen Elizabeth national park, I was with my father heading for business trip in Kasese district and we used Mbarara -Bushenyi route. While on the way to kasese district, we spotted crater lakes like Rutoro and Nyugu, maramagambo forest, Valley of Apes which kyambura gorge, lakes like Lake George, Edward, kazinga channel and various mammals like elephants, warthogs, buffalos, lions, Uganda kobs, leopards and bird species like grey crowned crane, great blue turacos, kingfishers and many more. The road trip was amazing spotting the rich bio diversity of the savannah park as we reach Kasese district which is for Bakojo people. I fell in love with what I spotted along the way and I have been going there again and again.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
It was a Thursday morning when I hit the road with a tour guide called Moses heading to Bwindi Impenetrable national park from Kampala. It took us about 9 hours to reach Bwindi using private vehicle from Kampala passing via Masaka -Mbarara route. While on the way, we spotted lake Mburo national park where we spotted zebras, giraffes, Uganda kobs, and in Swiss of Africa, we spotted lake Bunyonyi, landscapes, mountains and beautiful sceneric of tropic forest of Bwindi. Although the journey seemed to be long, it was worth it.
Jinja city.
It was a Friday, when my friends and I decided to hit the road heading to jinja city for a weekend trip. It took us about 3-4 hours to reach but while on the way, we all fell in love with the road due to people, cultures, languages, and beautiful sceneries like Mabira forest, Sugar cane plantation, source of the Nile and amazing jinja bridge crossing the Nile with green vegetation at the shores. Jinja city is so beautiful with various activities like quad biking, bungee jumping, water rafting, River tubing, boat cruise, and many more.
