A 4 days trip will start in Kampala and end in Kampala. The trip will take you on a long drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is commonly known for habiting half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas. While in Queen Elizabeth national park, you will spot various wildlife viewing, birds, chimpanzees and many more. If at all you’re uncomfortable with long drives, we do flights from Kampala to Kisoro airstrip then to mweya airstrip.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Very early in the morning at 6:30 am, your guide will pick you from your hotel and transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable rain forest. You will have a brief stop at the equator for photography and an en-route lunch in Mbarara. The beautiful scenery of Kabale also known as the “Switzerland of Africa” will be a big spectacle as you traverse the vast countryside. You will arrive in Ruhija in the evening to prepare for gorilla trekking the next morning. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mist Camp/Ruhiija Lodge/Bakiga Lodge.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi and cultural walk.
Take an early morning breakfast at 6:00am and report at UWA headquarters for briefing to know dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. The briefing takes about 15 minutes and then your given rangers, hiking sticks and porters to come along the tracking the gentle giants through thick vegetation as you hike up and down slippery slopes. While in the forest, be vigilant to listen to their vocal communications and follow them until you finally catch sight of them. An hour with them is a guarantee as you observe and learn their habits while taking photos. After one hour of trekking, visitors will go back at the lodge to refresh themselves as they warm up for lunch. After, you will do cultural walks of Batwa community people neighboring the national park. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
After an early breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth NP via Ishasha – the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park in search of the rare tree-climbing lions whilst not avoiding sights of antelopes like kobs, gazelles, and bushbucks among others. You will arrive to Elephant Plains lodge/Buffalo safari lodge/ Simba safari lodge, check in and have lunch as you warm up for a boat cruise in the afternoon. While on the cruise, you will spot various mammals on the lake shores like crocodiles, buffalos, elephants, and variety of birds like ring necked bird, kingfishers, white egrets, grey crowned crane, wagtail, great blue turacos, and many more. You will then embark on an evening game drive on return from the boat in search of some game as a lion, leopard among others. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 4: Chimp tracking and Transfer to Entebbe.
After having a cup of coffee, our guide will drive you to kalinzu forest for chimpanzees trekking where you spot other primates like monkeys and baboons. On return, you will set off back to Kampala via Mbarara for a lunch stop and later proceed to Kampala arriving late in the evening.
