Uganda Tourism Board postponed the pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) that was supposed to start February 8-11 2023 to April 26-29 2023. The rescheduling dates will favor the stakeholders who will engage in the event that will mainly be marketing Uganda’s tourism destinations since post covid-19.
Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo is done annually in Uganda in transform Uganda’s market and propel growth of the tourism sector.
“The preparations in high gear, the extension will enable a compressive arrangement that provides sufficient time for participation.” The UTB chairman Hon. Migereko Daudi said. He added saying that over some years, Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo has given chance to stakeholders to network, meet clients and discuss the opportunities. The Expo brings nationally, International and regionally business to business exhibitors and business to consumers meetings, familarisation trips for hosted buyer and many more activities thus enough time is given out for better preparation.
“The Expo closer ties between Uganda and the major international tourism source market that will be fostered.” The UTB CEO Ms.Lily Ajarova said. She added saying that it will open up new tourism markets for both intra-African and international travel. It is important for wide range of tourism trade partners, travel agencies, tour operators, hosted buyers, local and international media and other tourism related organizations to participate thus the growth of tourism sector.
POATE hosts over 300 exhibitors which include tourism board and corporate entities, 300 hosted buyers however the annual expo hosts over 5000 trade visitors and consumers to attend over the three days.
