14th day is a long-waited day to celebrate love worldwide. Despite being a special day, Uganda conservationists in Bwindi were busy inspecting gorillas in Bwindi then boom the gorilla mother spotted giving birth to the new infant. Tomvi of mukiza gave birth to a female baby gorilla thus the joy bundle celebration on the day of Love.
The gorilla family adds up to 19 individuals and Bashir reveals that the baby gorilla is in good health. He added saying that for the last few days, the baby gorilla gender has not been easy to spot due to the protective mother and silverback.
While on official UWA twitter, Hangi the communication UWA manager said that the birth of the female Gorilla is a result of the successful gorilla conservation and baby animals in the country.
The baby gorilla is a testimony to the many years of success due to its activeness and curious fella.
About Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park is located in south western part of Uganda and is famously known for mountain gorillas. Gorilla families like in four sectors in the park and these include Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors. Mountain Gorillas are known to be close relative of humans due to 98% DNA. The park inhabits over 400 individuals with 17 gorilla families where one is spotted in Mgahinga national park as Nyakagezi gorilla family. More of the Gorillas are spotted in Virunga conservation areas that is in volcano national park in Rwanda a, Virunga national park and Mgahinga national park adding up to a total of 1063 in the whole wide.
How much are Gorilla permits in Uganda and Rwanda?
Gorilla permits in Uganda costs $700 per person as foreigners and $70 per Ugandan and East Africans while in Rwanda both Foreigners and East African pay gorilla permit at $1500 per person. The costing includes the park entrance fees however Congolese gorilla permit is cheaper that Uganda and Rwanda. Gorilla permit in Uganda costs $450 per foreigner, $200 SADC and$150 per Congolese.
What to pack during gorilla trekking?
Before gorilla trekking, visitors are briefed to pack Cameras where they are restricted to remove flash lights while taking photos, wear comfortable hiking boots since the activity involves footing, wear long trousers, long t-shirts since they are passing via the forest, water and snacks because searching for gorillas may take half or full day thus helping in case you’re hungry, hiking stick because gorillas can be spotted in mountainous areas, and many more.
