Chimpundu lodge is a luxurious lodge located in the heart of kibale national park which is famously known as the best destination for chimpanzees tracking and habituation. The lodge is close to kanyanchu gate which is near the UWA headquarters. The park inhabits 13 primates which includes red tailed monkeys, black and white monkeys, baboons, vervet monkey and many more. The lodge is affordable with breath taking view of mount Rwenzori ranges and local communities.
The lodge consists of 10 spacious and comfortable sound proofed rooms which are self- contained and designed in African architecture. Some of the rooms are family cottages, double rooms, twin rooms and single rooms. Cottages are well raised wooden platform decorated and furnished with en-suite rooms which are private with flushing toilet, bath taps, hot and cold showering waters, slippers, towels, wooden chairs and tables, and many more. The rates at the lodge vary depending on the season.

What to do will at the lodge?
Chimpanzees tracking band habituation.
Despite the fact that chimpundu lodge lies in the heart of kibale national park, the lodge makes it the best destination for chimpanzees tracking and habituation. The lodge is near kanyanchu gate where there is UWA headquarters are for briefing about dos and don’ts of chimpanzees tracking or habituation. Visitors are given one hour visit with chimps and habituation chimps are given four hours. Visitors are limited to 8 individuals and tracking is twice a day that is morning and evening hours.
Birding.
Chimpundu lodge is a birding paradise because it is positioned in kibale national park. The park is a tropical forest inhabiting various bird species like grey crowned crane, great blue turacos, long horned billed bird, spurfowl, dove, kingfishers, crowned bird, white egrets, owls and many more. Birders are encouraged to pack binoculars, cameras, long trousers, long t-shirts, rain coat, water and snacks and many more. Birding may take half day or full since the park is a home of 370 bird species.
Nature walk.
While at the lodge, visitors may may do nature walk to kanyanchu gate or walk around bigodi wetland sanctuary where they will spot various bird species, 13 primates, local communities, wildlife like forest elephants and many more. During nature walk, visitors are led by guides who are said to be part of the local communities and who knows what is best for visitors. Visitors will meet traditional doctors, will be entertained by traditional dances, and visit rest in bananas where you will enjoy banana juice made out of ripped bananas. Nature walk takes about 2-3 hours and is mostly done in the afternoon hours after tracking chimpanzees.

Kibale national park neighbors Toro Kingdom which is well known for the youngest king Oyo in Uganda.
